Dyeing Feathers Using Dylon Multi-Purpose Dye


Coloured feathers are ideal for decorating almost anything from the latest clothes and accessories to homes and gifts. Just follow the simple instructions below to create your own!


You will need: Feathers Dylon Multi-Purpose Dye 250ml Vinegar Rubber Gloves


Instructions:


Wash feathers in warm soapy water; handle gently. Dissolve 1 tin of dye in 500ml boiling water. Fill container with enough boiling water to cover feathers (container may stain). Add dye solution and vinegar. Add feathers and gently agitate until they are one shade darker than required. For lighter shades this may only take a few seconds, for darker shades a few minutes. Rinse in water, shaking gently. Lay on kitchen roll to dry. Re-shape whilst damp.
